Research

Our company's primary research centers around the design and development of domain-specific hardware accelerators for high performance as well as embedded applications from various scientific areas. Currently the main areas that our research focuses on are:

Image Processing and Computer Vision

Our research in video and image processing focuses on the development of novel algorithms and techniques that can be efficiently implemented on a hardware platform with regards to constraints such as hardware budget, power, cost, and performance. The algorithms we investigate include traditional image processing algorithms (spatial filters, Histogram processing, etc.), object detection and recognition, 3D video processing, as well as video compression playback and encoding.

Intelligent Systems and Learning Vision Machines

Through our research we aim to embed intelligence in computing systems by efficiently designing and developing  pattern recognition and machine learning algorithms (such as Artificial Neural Networks).

Bioinformatics and Bio-inspired Computing

Our company is also involved in the design of architectures and systems for biological computing applications such as genome and protein sequence analysis (e.g. BLAST), database and information systems, and bio-inspired algorithms such as artificial neural networks.
